With the Umtamvuna River as a natural perimeter, the apartment is set within the tranquil gardens of the Eden Wilds Complex, in Banners Rest, Port Edward.

The gardens in the complex are well maintained and are visited by a wide variety of bird species and animal life. The egyptian geese are frequent visitors and one will occasionally spot a brave duiker within the serene surroundings of the garden.

The gates to the Umtamvuna Nature Reserve are next to the entrance to Eden Wilds and holiday makers can go on various hiking trails. Umtamvuna is a botanical reserve and an extensive range of foliage can be seen in their natural habitat. The reserve is also home to birds, monkeys and bush buck.

The swimming beach in Port Edward is a must for all holiday makers visiting the apartment. The beach is safe to swim and life guards are on duty during the day. For the avid fisherman, the Port Edward shoreline offers many good fishing spots with common species like karanteen, black tail and shad being caught on a regular basis.
